Archive: version 2.13 to 2.16
Ceyenne 2.16
Ceyenne 2.16 contains a number of new functionalities and bug fixes that are worth highlighting. “Overall performance has gone up, but if I have to pick out a few things, then first of all the addition of the Transsmart return label service. We have an integration with Transsmart, one of our multicarrier platforms. It is now possible to route return labels through Transsmart in Ceyenne as well. The benefit for the user is that they now have a complete labelling system within Ceyenne and can use all the labelling functions of Transsmart.”
Showing tasks at logout
Another improvement is the display of unfinished tasks at logout. Lukas: “At logout, you can now hand tasks over to another colleague or detach yourself from these tasks. That prevents tasks from staying open that cannot be completed without manual intervention. After your shift, your colleague doesn't have to monitor whether you have completed all your tasks.”
Pro glove display optimised
The Pro Glove is used in many warehouses: a small scanner on your hand, as it were, that displays a small part of the tasks. “The performance and processing of the information on the Pro Glove has been improved. The instructions for the user are displayed faster and better. The scanner works with an e-ink screen, which makes this an important aspect.”
Returns
Lukas: “Imagine a customer sends a product back, which of course happens often. But something can be wrong with such a return shipment: it is not recognised by the system, it has already been closed or information is missing. Usually, though, the information can be traced. In the returns application you can now still create a return and register it against the original buyer. After that, you can start the receiving process. The advantage is that you have a smaller chance that the customer will sooner or later call to ask why the amount paid has not been refunded. This way you prevent an unhappy customer, even though he or she has probably made a mistake themselves.”

Ceyenne 2.15
This release contains a lot of ‘groundwork’, preparatory work for a number of great new functionalities in the coming releases”, says Tomas Straathof of Diract IT. “So those are on their way, and that is good news in itself. This version does contain a number of useful functionalities that are definitely worth a look.”
Scan to container
“One handy example is the option to scan units to a container more easily. Customers who ship goods sometimes want to scan those goods to a container. Previously they had to scan each unit to the container one by one. If you have to do a lot of units, that is quite inefficient. We now have the option to scan multiple units to a container in one go.”
Questionnaire as VAL action
“Until now, the questionnaire was available in the returns application. In the new release, this questionnaire is also available as a VAL action, Value Added Logistics. We can now inject those in multiple places in the software.” For example: you receive goods and you want to keep track of their quality. Then you can check whether the pallet looks neat, whether everything on it is as agreed. You can collect that information to monitor the Service Level Agreements with your suppliers. “When we look at the return shipments themselves, there is an extension of the filter rules. Product attributes can now be used there.”
Check incomplete receipts
When a user logs out, a check is made for any incomplete receipts that are still open. “If that is the case, the user is notified. Admittedly, it is actually quite normal for that to happen. In all kinds of other programs this has long been the case. In the next updates, this functionality will be extended further to, for example, picking.”

Proglove
As mentioned, from this Ceyenne version 2.11 we support the Proglove at SDK (Software Development Kit) level. This allows us to extend the possibilities of the Proglove further in the coming releases. What have we made available for now? Picking with the Proglove Display.
Before we zoom in on this, a brief explanation of what the Proglove actually is. The Proglove is a wireless, lightweight barcode scanner. Several versions of this device are available, of which the Proglove Mark Display in particular captures our imagination.
The combination of Ceyenne WMS and the Mark Display makes it possible to support a complete Pick Process from the scanner's screen without the intervention of a Wearable (such as a PDA or wrist scanner). Would you like more information? We would be happy to show it to you some time.

Optimization
We are busy optimising Ceyenne WMS, both when it comes to improving existing functions and to occasional bugs. We also try to meet customer wishes and add new functionalities. It all comes together in V2.10.
We have built a new production stock app, which makes it possible to assign products from the customer's production line directly to a pick location. We have also added a progress bar to picking, so that the user knows how far along they are with picking. This is also the first step towards ‘gamification’, as we are collecting more and more data about the user that we can use later.
New functionalities in Ceyenne WMS V2.10
- When a cycle count has been started for a URN that is on a Bulk location, has Stock, and no stock mutation has been performed before (with the exception of the receiving goods mutation), it does not need to be counted.

Improvements in Ceyenne WMS V2.10
- Brand name added in the product display fields.
- [Module packing] Carrier and shipping method information added in the scan shipping unit view overview.

Ceyenne WMS 2.7
Ceyenne WMS version 2.7 has been released. Ceyenne is continuously being developed, and new functionalities and features are added all the time. Curious what has been added in version 2.7?
New functionalities in Ceyenne WMS V2.7
- GENERAL Option added that allows the user to confirm specific scan actions by simply clicking a “confirm” button. For example, if the user has to scan a certain location, this scan action can be skipped by means of the button, which also serves as confirmation that the user is at the right location.
- INTERWAREHOUSE CROSSDOCK New app “Interwarehouse Crossdock”: this app can be used to perform unit movements between two warehouses.
- PICKING New option to place the picked goods on a location instead of a station, in combination with processing dispatches.
- OPTIMISATION TASKS A new function has been added to the system called “optimisation job chaining”. Once the next job has been selected and if it supports chaining, Ceyenne will try to find another job that starts near the current user location and ends near the start location of the selected job.
Improvements in Ceyenne WMS V2.7
- GENERAL Validation added for the length of a serial number.
- GOODS RECEIPT Various improvements to the goods receipt app. Among others: a more uniform workflow for the regular receipt and the location receipt methods.

Ceyenne WMS 2.5 and 2.6
At Diract, with every new update we focus on the three E's: Efficiency, Environment and Employee. This time the emphasis is on Efficiency.
Efficiency
New VAL trigger Crossdock Outbound added. With the Crossdock Outbound trigger it is possible, at inbound (goods receipt), to set the product aside directly and pick it for an open order in a carrier of your choice. The product is set aside and, via the Release process (optimisation task), can be brought to the right location, for example a stop station, packing station or consolidation station, so that it can then be shipped with the rest of the order.
Employee
Without staff you are nowhere. Can you do something to make their work more enjoyable, for example with the data you already have? Turn your work into a game. That is possible with gamification, and Ceyenne WMS is ready for it.
New functionalities in Ceyenne WMS V2.5 and V2.6
- ANALYSIS New analysis module added to monitor app usage. This gives more insight into how long specific tasks take.
- PRINTING New functionality added to support the new generic reprint functionality in Ceyenne. This makes it easier for us to let the user reprint labels, stickers and other documents.
- VAL TRIGGERS The registration of product dimensions has been extended so that the product settings “Force Single Pick” and “Force Bulk Pick” can be changed by the user.
- VAL A new VAL action has been created for outbound crossdocking receipt.
Improvements in Ceyenne WMS V2.5 and V2.6
- GENERAL Improved screens of all apps so that the scan actions are at the top and information fields at the bottom.
- PUTAWAY The work process has been updated to support the action of splitting the URN manually.
- GOODS RECEIPT In case the order requires a VAL action, this will be shown by means of a new information field when scanning the URN.

Ceyenne WMS 2.4
At Diract, with every new update we focus on the three E's: Efficiency, Environment and Employee.
Environment
Logistics has a major impact on the environment, so if it is possible to use a little less cardboard, that is perfect. That is why in V2.4 it is possible, when receiving products, to indicate that no outer box is needed because the product is already sturdily packed. That is good for your wallet and for the environment.
Employee
The aim of Ceyenne WMS is that it is user-friendly and that you can train staff quickly, and thereby quickly gain efficiency again. In busy periods you need to be able to scale up fast, and you don't want to lose time on this. With short and clear instructions, that is possible.
New functionalities in Ceyenne WMS V2.4

Archive: version 2.1 to 2.3
Ceyenne WMS 2.3
The new release of Ceyenne WMS is out. We have now reached version V2.3.
Colour codes for stock locations
Even faster picking? That is possible thanks to colour coding. For the brain, it is easier to recognise colours than numbers and letters. That offers opportunities in the warehouse, in the form of colour coding. For that reason, this has now been made possible in Ceyenne WMS V2.3. As a result, the user can pick up to 5% faster.
Assigning manual quantities to lines
A setting has been added that allows the user, in the goods receipt process, to distribute the received quantities of a product over the open purchase orders themselves, instead of Ceyenne WMS distributing them automatically based on creation date and time, from old to new.
Support for Datalogic scanners

Ceyenne WMS 2.2
Ceyenne is continuously being developed, and new functionalities are added all the time. Curious what has been added in version 2.2?
What's new in Ceyenne WMS V2.2?
The new scanner offers full support for Datalogic scanners, without the intervention of a datawedge. This gives access at the deepest level to the functionalities the hardware offers.
The option has also been added to cancel order lines up to and including packing. If a customer still wants to change the order, that is possible up to that point.
In addition, two new VAL actions have been added to the VAL module. Both the pick stickers and the price stickers can now be configured as VAL tasks. Furthermore, with Manual Stock Movement it is now also possible to scan the serial number of products.
Improvements in V2.2
A nice improvement relates to the number of tasks. These are shown across the different zones of the warehouse. If employees want to know in which zone there is still work to be done, they can get that insight on the scanner itself.
In addition, users can now create the stock themselves when a product is lying at a location that is no longer known administratively in the system. The validation in Replenishments has also been extended to validate whether the stock on the URN is not blocked.
New functionalities in Ceyenne WMS V2.2
- [Packing] Adding the option to cancel order lines during packing
- [VAL] Adding two VAL actions: ‘Print price stickers’ and ‘Print pick stickers’

Ceyenne WMS 2.1
Logistics is versatile. Given the many sub-processes in a warehouse and the variety in order flows, delivering orders on time is a challenge every day. You have to support every process optimally to do this efficiently. Because it is difficult to find and retain employees, you want a user-friendly application that is pleasant to work with. Reason enough, then, to enrich Ceyenne WMS V2.1 and to make the design more attractive too.
Working on logistics with a feel for the three E's. That is what we believe in at Diract:
- Employee
- Efficiency
- Environment
What has been improved in V2.1?
Ceyenne WMS V2.1 contains many small optimisations that make use easier and clearer. For instance, the menu on the scanner has been adjusted. All scan options we support are visible and configurable. The name of the environment has been added to the health service and performance improvements have been made in the optimisation tasks.
Another improvement, certainly for fashion customers, is the addition of brand and size at product level. This makes products easier for employees to recognise from the scanner.
Functionally, the extension of VAL in both the back-end and on the scanner is one of the biggest additions to Ceyenne WMS V2.1. Through configuration, VAL tasks can be configured in various places in the scanner application, for example the crossdock process during inbound.
The packing applications have also been extended. In the renewed packing app it is possible to consolidate orders. Do products come from different zones in the warehouse? Then you consolidate them while packing. This prevents an unnecessary number of boxes being shipped and saves you shipping costs.
In addition, the scanner application now also has packing functionality. Does a packing station not fit your warehouse layout, or do your products call for physical flexibility? Then this addition is interesting.
A new look
The most important reason is the renewed design of the management environment. It has been thoroughly overhauled and has also had some small optimisations. Not only the colour scheme, but also more active use of icons and submenus should help users. Users who already worked with the packing or returns application will recognise the design.
New functionalities in Ceyenne WMS V2.1
- [Cyclecount] Counting URNs has been made possible within the cyclecount process
- [Cyclecount] Counting LOTs has been made possible within the cyclecount process
